Introduction to the Chengdu Campus and Yibin Campus of Gingko College
Gingko College of Hospitality Management now has a Chengdu Campus and a Yibin Campus, covering more than 1000 mu (1 mu = 0.07 or so ha.), respectively located in the Pidu District of Chengdu City and the Nanxi District of Yibin City.
The nearly 500-mu Chengdu Campus is located in the Pidu District of Chengdu City, the Land of Abundance and a place with a long and profound cultural history. Pidu District, where the College lies in, is known for the tale of Emperor Wang who reposed his amorous heart to the cuckoo. The geographical location here is very advantageous and the traffic is convenient. The College is close to a subway station and a tramcar station, neighbors many universities such as UESTC, Southwest Jiaotong University, and Xihua University, an ideal place for learning, teaching, and scientific research.
Yibin Campus covers an area of more than 500 mu in the Nanxi District of Yibin City. The campus is established to strengthen the cultivation of applied talents and improve the quality of talent cultivation. It is the extension and expansion of the College's diploma education, a practical teaching place for developing students' practical ability and application ability, conducting experimental courses teaching, and offering services for training of high-quality application- oriented professions. It is also a training campus for culturing high-quality and skilled personnel for the hotel and tourism industries.
Yinbin Campus plays an important role in practical teaching: First, it provides skills training conditions to meet the cultivation of professional talents of the College's hotel feature. Moreover, three practical teaching hotels will be opened to meet the demands on students' skills and practical abilities in the course of talent training. Second, the campus will rely on the rich local tourism resources to establish an internship training center in combination with the tourism, information engineering, foreign language, and management specialties, and construct internship training rooms to better cultivate the applied talents of the above-mentioned specialties.
