  • The Former General Manager of Cornell’s Statler Hotel Visited Yinxing
  • On the morning of September 30,2019, Mr. Richard Adie, General Manager of Cornell’s Statler Hotel and strategic consultant of Ginkgo Education Group, visited Yinxing and conducted a research on the practice teaching in Department ofHotel Management. Mr. Richard Adie was received by Dr. Fu Jing, VicePresident of Yinxing, who accompanied him throughout the visit. Mr. Richard Adie visited and inspected the hotel engineering laboratory, the bartending laboratory, the coffee and cooking laboratory. In Room 2505 of Chih Hsing Hall, he shared his valuable experience on what a hotel industry is, how to cultivate professional identity and sense of pride, and how to balance the relationship between life and work with students of DHM.At the same time, Mr. Richard Adie took Cornell's students as an example to encourage students to discover and make good use of their strengths, thinking and planning career paths from subtle work. Mr. Richard Adie spoke highly of students' language competencies and sense of professionalism and standardized management of the laboratory.

    Later, Mr. Adie visited the Simple Café, which was mainly operated by students.He discussed with the management team and some teaching faculty of DHM on the deep integration between theoretical knowledge and practical skills.He acknowledged Yinxing's efforts on utilizing a cafe, a real work place as a practice teaching mode, where students could integrate classroom-teaching with best practices. This teaching mode allows students to engage in the whole process of operating a cafe, which is as significant as the teaching hotel in Nanxi campus. Mr. Adie acknowledged that the theoretical and practice courses of the hotel management major of Yinxing have been steadily advancing towards an international direction, and suggested that attention should be paid to a Ginkgo brand.

  • A Visit from Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School, Australia
  • On 17 September,Mr. Raffael H•STANGL, the Asian Representative of Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (Blue Mountains), Australia, visited Yinxing. Mr. Wang Junjie, ActingDirector of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, and Zhang Yanqi, programmanager of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, received the guests and held the meeting. Wang Junjie expressed warm welcome to Mr.Raffael H•STANGL and his team and gave a detailed introduction to the basic situation of Yinxing and the major of hotelmanagement ofYinxing. Mr. Raffael H•STANGL expressed his gratitude for the reception and briefly introduced Blue Mountains and its partnership in China. Following the cooperation conceptof mutual consultation, co-construction and sharing, the two parties heldin-depth discussions on the 3+0.9 graduate program, short-term exchange program for teachers and students. Through communications and discussions, the two parties have initially reached an intention to jointly build a platform for friendly exchanges and cooperation. Brief introduction of Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School: Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS) was established in 1991. It is located in the famous tourist area on the southeast coast of Australia, the town of Lula, the center of the Blue Mountains Scenic World Heritage Site, and Sydney, Australia's largest city. Among them, the Blue Mountains Scenic Area is part of Sydney and is one of the most famous tourist attractions in New South Wales. BMIHMS is Australia's oldest boarding hotel management school. It is globally renowned for its high-quality education and training in the professional field, ranking the first place in Australia and Asia-Pacific region (Taylor Nelson Sofres Survey2010 and 2013). The courses taught are fully accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality Standards Agency (TEQSA) and are recognized worldwide.

  • Prince of Songkla University of Thailand(Phuket Campus) Visited Yinxing
  • On September 5, 2019, Dr. Prathana Kannaovakun, Vice President of Prince of Songkla University of Thailand (Phuket Campus), and Dr. Pornpissanu Promsivapallop, Dean of Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management (FHTM) of Prince of Songkla University of Thailand (PSU), visited Yinxing. The President of Yinxing, Mr. Li Ming, warmly welcomed the guests. First of all, President Li Ming welcomed Vice President Prathana Kannaovakun and his delegation on behalf of Yinxing and introduced the basic situation of Yinxing. Subsequently, Dr. Fu Jing, Vice President of Yinxing, explained thestrategic developmentof internationalization of Yinxing, demonstrated the achievements obtained, and proposed the direction of cooperation with the Thai Academy in the field of hotel and tourism. Dr. Prathana and Dr. Pornpissanu introduced Prince of Songkla University and its department of Hotel and Tourism Management respectively. They expressed their appreciation for the overall development of the internationalization of Yinxing. They were willing to cooperate with Yinxing in depth and jointly promote the friendly cooperation between Chengdu & Yibin and southern Thailand. Finally, the two parties reached cooperation intentions on student exchanges, curriculum matching, credit recognition, international curriculum development as well as joint teaching and co-research projects in the field of hospitality and tourism. It is reported that Prince of Songkla University of Thailand was founded in 1967 and is one of nine research universities in Thailand.   • SEG Swiss Hotel Education Group visited Yinxing
  • On April 15, Mr. R. Max Behesht, President ofCesar Ritz Colleges, Swiss Education Group (SEG), and Mr. Li Hengtong, representative of Swiss Education Group (SEG), visited Yinxing and gave academic lectures. Dr.Fu Jing, Vice President of Yinxing, Ms. Xu Junyi, Acting Director of the Department of HotelManagement, and Ms. Zhang Yanqi, the project manager, attended the lecture. During the lecture, Mr.R.Max Behesht started discussions with classmates on the topic of Hospitality and Leadership and actively answered questions from students. Dr. Fu Jing, Vice President of Yinxing, warmly welcomed the arrival of Mr. R. Max Behesht and introduced the basic situation of Yinxing. She pointed out that the purpose of the cooperation is to establish a good platform for students of the two sides, hoping thatstudents can go out frequently and expand their horizons while topping up their education background. Adhering to the cooperation concept of mutual consultation, co-construction and sharing, the two parties conducted in-depth negotiations on the following aspects. First, the top-up programs; Second, to improvecommunication and learning between the teachers of the two sides; Third, to send students to Switzerland for short-term studies and participate in study tours.Through communication and discussions, the two sides reached a good consensus and wouldactively and effectively promote project cooperation.

  • Experts of Hong Kong Poly U DiscussedPractical Teaching Model of Hotel Management
  • To further improve the quality of practical teaching for the hotel management major in Yinxing, Dr. Tony Tse, Professor of Practice of School of Hotel and Tourism Management, Hong Kong Poly U, delivered a lecture on the topic of “Practical Teaching of Hotel and Modern Service Industry: Resource Building and Application” on March 30,2019. Dr. Wei Zhao, Vice President of Yinxing, Li Junjie, General Secretary of the Party branch ofDepartment of Hotel Management, Xu Junyi, director of Department of Hotel Management, Hu Rong, director of the laboratory, and key teachers of Department of Hotel Management attended the seminar. Dr. Tse took Hotel Icon, the teaching hotel of the Hong Kong Poly U (SHTM) as a case study and explained from several aspects such as the establishment, operation, teaching and training of the teaching hotel, the operation and management of the training restaurant, the service and practice learning. Combined with the development orientation of Hong Kong PloyU, he analyzed the teaching and research functions of the "Hotel ICON" and its important role for SHTM, as well as related research work. After the lecture, Dr. Tse and the teachers of Yinxing discussed on the value and contribution of training hotel to practical knowledge in teaching. During the communication, the participating teachers jumped out of their mindsets, clearly positioned, and actively discussed the development and methods of the practice mode of hotel management in Yinxing. Each participating teacher was actively thinking deeply about the development of Yinxing's characteristics. The launch of this seminar fully reflects the pragmatic, innovative and internationalized work ideas of Yinxing. And it’s a booster for strengthening foreign cooperation and exchanges. At the same time, it also shows that Yinxing attaches great importance to the practice teaching construction of hotel management. Through face-to-face communication, teachers believe that the practical teaching mode of SHTM is highly consistent with the educational thinking of serving students and cultivating moral character of Yinxing. It also provides a good reference for the practice teaching construction of hotel management major of Yinxing.

  • A Delegation from Marriott International Group Paid a Visit
  • On March 6, 2019, a delegation of 10 members of the Marriott International Group visited Yinxing. Chairman Fang Gongyu, executive director Tian Tao, senior management team of Ginkgo Education Group, Party and government leaders as well as staff from related departments of Yinxing Hospitality Management College participated in the reception, and held a friendly meeting in the conference room on the fifth floor of the administrative building. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Wei Zhao. Professor Zhang Zhiyong, Vice President of Yinxing, delivered a welcoming speech. On behalf of Yinxing, he warmly welcomed the visit of Ms. Shirley Chenfrom Marriott International Group and made a brief introduction to Yinxing.
